Mother of Abominations

Daughter of Comfort

I will open my garments and stand naked before you
So that your love may be more enflamed towards me
As yet, I walk in the clouds
As yet; I am carried with the winds
And cannot descend unto you
For the abominations of your dwelling place

Happy is he that saluteth you
Cursed is he that holdeth up his hands against you
Power shall be given to rest your enemies
I am sent unto you
Prepare for me, for I come shortly

Provide your chambers for me that they may be sweet and clean
For I will make a dwelling place amongst you
Joint with the father and the son
Yea with all that favoreth you
For my youth is in her flower
My strength is not to be extinguished with man

So, provide for me for behold I salute you
And let peace be amongst you for I am the Daughter of Comfort
Disclose not my secrets unto women
Neither let them understand how sweet I am
And I will come unto you again

The Get

A divorce-writ has been sent
For the sealing of this house
That there flee the evil Lilith
Naked are you sent forth
With your hair disheveled
And let fly behind your backs

A divorce-writ has been sent
Straight down from heaven
From far across the sea
It has been made know to you
Hear, obey and come forth
From the dwelling of this man

Be informed that a ban has been sent; hear it and depart from this house
Hag and the Snatcher; the three of you, the four of you, the five of you

A divorce-writ has been sent
Straight down from heaven
From far across the sea
By the Rock and the Strong One
Turn away from this man
And do not again return

Take your letter of divorce
Accept your settled share
Depart from this house
You shall not appear
Either in dreams or slumber
You are sealed with the signet

Be informed that a ban has been sent; hear it and depart from this house
Hag and the Snatcher; the three of you, the four of you, the five of you

All Her Princes Are Gone

It is he who casts the lot for them
He marks off their shares of her
They shall possess her forever and ever
And dwell there for generations

His indignation is upon all the lands
His fury upon their armies
He hath destroyed and he hath delivered
Them to the slaughter

Her nobles shall be no more
Nor shall kings be proclaimed there
Her castles shall be overgrown with thorns
Her fortresses with thistles and briers

All her princes are gone

The land shall be a burning pitch
The dust thereof be brimstone
It shall lie waste forever and ever
And none shall pass through it

Their slain also shall be cast out
Their stink shall come out of their carcasses
Mountains shall with blood be melted
Hosts of heaven dissolved

Her nobles shall be no more
Nor shall kings be proclaimed there
Her castles shall be overgrown with thorns
Her fortresses with thistles and briers

Shapes Without Shadows

Surrounding man on all sides
As the earth does the root of the vine
A thousand on his left
Ten thousand on the right

If a man could see them
He would lack strength to face them
In the lower regions
They hover all around

Like angels, they have wings and fly around this world
From one end to the other
Assuming shapes of men, but unlike them without shadows
Causing storms and earthquakes
Their main abode is the North, where they dwell in crowds of sixty
And they form in groups of nine
Shady spots on moonlit nights; near cemeteries and ruins
Overhearing heaven’s decree

Beware on the eves of Sabbath
The dancing spirits haunt
Drink only from white
Recite the magic writ

Take heed on midsummer noon
Avoid the unseen glares
Keep out of the shades
Or be bested and perish

Like angels, they have wings and fly around this world
From one end to the other
Assuming shapes of men, but unlike them without shadows
Causing storms and earthquakes
Their main abode is the North, where they dwell in crowds of sixty
And they form in groups of nine
Shady spots on moonlit nights; near cemeteries and ruins
Overhearing heaven’s decree

Pestilence and Smiter

Once the death-dealing sting
Of the midsummer sun-god Nergal
But since his absolute corruption
Nocturnal deliverer of plagues

Named as one of the servitors
Used as messenger of Lord
To bring many plagues to earth
As means of heavenly penance

Deber is Pestilence; Punishment walking in darkness
Releaser of terrors; devouring First-born of Death
Keteb is Smiter; Malevolence storming in midday
Arisen from below; Emergent from the dismal abode

Another is the wind
Poisonous and with scales
He sees only with one eye
The other is in his heart

Mighty between darkness and light
Reigns from fourth to ninth
Men or beasts that see him
Fall down and expire

Deber is Pestilence; Punishment walking in darkness
Releaser of terrors; devouring First-born of Death
Keteb is Smiter; Malevolence storming in midday
Arisen from below; Emergent from the dismal abode

Bewitching Lilith

I adjure you first Eve in the name of your creator
In the name of the ones who were sent after you
In the angels on the isles of the sea to whom you swore
That wherever you will find their names you will cause no harm

Neither you nor your cohorts and servants
You will not damage the ones who wear their names

Bound is the bewitching Lilith with a peg of iron in her nose
Bound is the bewitching Lilith with pincers of iron in her mouth
Bound is the bewitching Lilith, who haunts the house of man

I adjure you and your cohorts and your servants
In their names and the seals set down here
By strength of these names and figures, I adjure you
That you cause no harm to the woman in childbirth

Neither you nor your cohorts and servants
You will not damage the ones who wear the names

Bound is the bewitching Lilith with a peg of iron in her nose
Bound is the bewitching Lilith with pincers of iron in her mouth
Bound is the bewitching Lilith, who haunts the house of man

Nor to the child who was born to her
Neither during the day nor during the night
Neither through their food nor through their drink
Neither in their head nor in their heart

Bound is the bewitching Lilith with a peg of iron in her nose
Bound is the bewitching Lilith with pincers of iron in her mouth
Bound is the bewitching Lilith, who haunts the house of man

The Judgement

One of angels, who had the seven bowls
Came and spoke with me, saying,
Come here and I will show you the judgment
With whom the kings of the earth
Committed acts of immorality
And those who dwell on the earth
Were made drunk with wine of her immorality

And he carried me away in the spirit into wilderness
I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast

And on her forehead a name was written
Babylon the Great, Mother of Harlots
And the Abominations of the Earth

The beast that you saw is about to come out of the abyss
And those who dwell on the earth
Whose names yet have not been written in the book of life
Will wonder when they see him
Which he was and is not and will come
The kingdoms have one purpose
And they give their power and authority to the beast

And he carried me away in the spirit into wilderness
I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast

And on her forehead a name was written
Babylon the Great, Mother of Harlots
And the Abominations of the Earth

Enemies of God

If they touch any corn in the field
It will wither and come to no good
Look they upon a sword or knife
Be it never so bright, it waxeth duskish
So doth also the lively hue of ivorie

The very bees in the hive die
Iron and steel presently take rust
Yea, brass and copper likewise
With a filthy, strong and poisoned stench
If they but lay hand thereupon

For all those that would draw us from heaven
Be they ladies or queens, beings of the Devil’s nature; are enemies of God
Therefore willeth our Lord that in all such cases;
Be they knights or kings; we declare ourselves forever enemies unto them

Why will they not confess to sin
Renounce the deed of their gift
They declare their denial of Christ
In the face of the judges and courts
O how dreadful if they die in such a case

Their time is approaching a close
They have murdered their own souls
Confess therefore that we pray
They would be out of the wicked claws
It will take all prayers you can get

For all those that would draw us from heaven
Be they ladies or queens, beings of the Devil’s nature; are enemies of God
Therefore willeth our Lord that in all such cases;
Be they knights or kings; we declare ourselves forever enemies unto them
